Raspberry Pi has just dropped a bigger sibling to its 7-inch touchscreen: the 10" Touch Display 2, available now at $80 (roughly £65 before UK shipping/tax).

What you get

It's a 10.1-inch IPS panel running at 1280×800 with 10-point capacitive touch. It connects via a single ribbon cable to any modern Pi (Pi 1B+ onwards, Pi 5 included) and draws power from the Pi itself — no separate PSU needed. The viewing angles and brightness are a step up from the older 7-inch model, which makes sense given the price bump.

Why homelabbers should care

A 10-inch touchscreen is the sweet spot for a wall-mounted Home Assistant dashboard, a Grafana monitoring panel, or a rack-door status display. The previous 7-inch display always felt a touch cramped for anything beyond a single widget view. At this size you can comfortably run a full dashboard UI without squinting. It also suits kiosk builds for 3D printer management (OctoPrint/Mainsail) or a dedicated PiKVM console.

Caveats

$80 is fair, but it's not cheap once UK VAT and approved-reseller pricing land — expect closer to £75-80 from the usual suspects. The resolution is decent but not Full HD, so don't expect crisp text at small font sizes. And if your Pi is already under load, pushing a larger display might nudge thermals up — worth keeping airflow in mind.
